The idea derives from Austrian filmmaker Edgar Honetschlaeger and the chief of Austrian advertising agency Willi Mahringer, who teamed up with the COM Institute from Tokyo. They hope that chicken suits will become like Pokemon, a "gadget that no one needs but everyone wants to have." The chicken suits include various outfits for hens and chickens and had their first presentation in the Austrian pavilion of the World exhibition in Nagoya, Japan, where 20 chickens paraded on a catwalk with Mozart music playing in the background. The chicken suit collection will start its world-wide tour with shows planned in Tokyo, Paris, Mexico City and Vienna. According to the manufacturers, the collection will be displayed prêt à porter at selected places until the spring of 2006, while further designs are already in preparation. |
